Got spare money?

--"No, but they have regulations for what can be branded as "Centrino" technology"

Hmm. I had forgotten about that. On purpose, mind you, but still. It's rather sad that Intel chose to imitate RIAA's marketing. We didn't need any Payolla schemes for technology.

--"Some reviews have appeared now."

Yeah, but I'd wait for someone who can tell a microchip from a tortilla chip to do some testing...

--"A 1.6GHz Pentium M performs on-par with a ~2.2GHz P4 chip."

Which is what I find so amusing about the whole thing, given Intel's past "Ghz Matters" campaign. I wish they had just come out with this design to replace the P3.

In any case, I really don't see the point of the wireless thing still. I mean, okay, Intel's pushing it like crazy, it'll be around. But so what? Laptops are too cumbersome for the kind of thing they're pushing. I don't see people whipping them out (even the ultralights) every time they stop to by a dougnut. Maybe when they push things on the Pocket PC or wearable front, but not with laptops.
