Ah but yes. The parliament is now more to the left side than before. Not that common in Europe today. The extreme right did get a few seats more, but the "regular" right lost seats.

At least there's one bright spot - SDP is giving up their Foreign Minister spot, which means no more Örkki Tuomio running his mouth off at every opportunity. OTOH, that can only mean that Finland will hereforth be associated with urbane, tech-savvy image of Seppo Kääriäinen...

Itälä has been trying to pass many laws which would turn this nation closer into a fascist state, to attract 'christian' voters (ie, ultra-conservative over 50-year olds). I'm pretty glad if he's sacked.

National Coalition needs to turn a bit more liberal in social issues (Guys like Häkämies are killing me, "if we allow homosexual marriages, the glorious Finnish race will suffer an extinction"...) and to regain it's hard-line economic policies (which were mainly ignored in the ít's campaign in Helsinki and Uusimaa, the biggest voting districts, it was hard to make a difference between them and Social Democrats), if it want's to get some younger brood on their party. Getting the jewish guy which name I cannot spell (Ben... was it Zyschklowitzh?) as a head of the party would be a step into this direction, he was the guy which attracted well-educated, young people with good economical status to vote NC in 1999.

I hope that the Agrarian Center Party doesn't get into power, they'll kill the economy by idiotic deficits if they get their hands on it.
