american cheese is just a cheap decent tasting cheese for those who can't afford the better stuff. I like it. I can't afford to get the expensive fancy cheeses.

For a processed food, it tastes real good melted over a burger

American cheese is just processed cheese, and like other said ITS NOT CHEDDAR CHEESE! By the way the cheese i like the most is Cheddar Cheese, and its way better then american cheese. But Ameircan Cheese is pretty good in bugers and such, but to eat by itself, does not taste all that great. If you guys eat cheese bugers at all you most likely eating american cheese and dont even know it, lol.
