Right, sometime in the sixties someone invented a reasonably cheap device called a "mixing unit" which allows you to, by correctly adjusting two taps or possibly a kind of lever, achieve a stream of water of any temperature from very hot to very cold, and, get this, everything in between. A pleasant temperature for washing your hands? Coming right up. The choice between ice cold and scalding hot is no more! Halelujah!
