Shock therapy is actually extremely benign and far more effective than other treatments. It has (obviously) a bad rep, but things have changed since the days of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Don't be so quick to dismiss it out of hand. Sounds like you've got a serious problem, and those medications aren't doing the trick.

Sloww, I worked in a psychiatry research lab for four years, plus I just finished a psych rotation just a few months ago. I've seen many ECT patients.

100mg of Celexa is one helluva dose... how long have you been on it?
The SSRIs are the best drugs available for OCD; if they aren't working for you, not sure what else to tell ya.

Find a hobby/game you like, when you start obessing
think about the game, it's pleasant, and unimportant.
There is nothing differient about you than a lot of people.
Trying going for a walk and a pipe, stop at your corner
pub for a pint or 2, no more. The point is to relax, get
and some exercise before bed, not get pissed.
P.S. Works for me

You definitely need to give it more time. It generally takes at least two weeks, if not longer, before SSRIs start to work. No way it would have begun to work already.

Tassadar, doyou have chronic insomnia or OCD?
I have to step on the lines in between the cracks on the sidewalk (ya know how sidewalk roads are carpeteted with square asphalt..) is that like OCD? |
I have both.
When you walk.....do you feel as if you HAVE to step in the lines between the cracks or else something terrible will happen?
If yes : You may have OCD.
If no: You probably don't.
