it is sad though that we can't even get into places and that people are loosing their jobs in unis.
so the bad economy is basically that no one is buying anything...right?

yah, like duct tape.
and we spend about 15% of our budget on military, so my bad. unless we increased it insanely recently.

The reason that the two party system has been so constant in the USA is that when a small party becomes popular, one of the larger parties often adopts the new idea that made them popular and thus edges out the newer party. While that may seem stifling, it actually ensures the constant development and change of parties as new ideas and plans are implemented by the major parties. For example, social security was largely borrowed from small, socialist parties, and it is now strong and mainstream national policy.
Even so, 3rd parties becoming main parties is not unheard of. The republican party itself was a tiny 3rd party, once.
The point is that, while different from european-style democracy, our system is hardly less democratic than yours. It works to represent the votes of the people in a different way. For example, I'm horrified by the european idea that one branch of government (parliament) could be at all beneficial, but I don't reject the fact that it is indeed democratic. You must respect the differences in our system and accept that they work for us.
