Even if I think most of the article is spin or speculation, it isn't a surprise at all that Russia shared intelligence with Iraq, and vice versa.

But the question is : how is it shocking ? It would be shocking if countries allied to the US like France or Britain did this, but I have don't understand what the problem is when it comes from Russia.
Every country spies on every other, and the info or disinformation it gets can be a valuable diplomatic good. There is nothing new.

I don't see much problems here.. everybody spies everybody. Naturally the case is not THAT. It's who you share that information with. Now that can be little troubling. But I wouldn't jump off my horse just yet.

I don't think there is such an important overhaul happening right now. This occurence is quite unimportant IMHO : Russia had interests in Iraq not being attacked, and it shared intel. with Iraq to achieve this common goal. It's not like if Russia had made a grand coalition/empire around her.

I think most people who go to to welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com go there for a good laugh, whether French or not . But even if this kind of guys doesn't seem to be the majority, it isn't completely marginal either, and I'd assume it will be growing.

France has an history of anti-Americanism, despite it being very-low intensity compared to what we see in Arab countries, so I guess there are more Anti-Americans in France than in other western countries.
