I have the reverse problem Agathon. My Thai girlfriend feels apologetic each time she even thinks she did something wrong. Of course in my eyes she has never done anything wrong. If she ever said, "I'm right and you are wrong" I would fall off my chair. Of course that is what is so nice about Thai women. They are quite humble but they get their way eventually like all women. They just use a different (and quite effective) strategy.

I always end up admitting wrongdoing...

But the best I ever got off my wife was this:

Ag (after wife realises she screwed up). "So you were wrong"

Wife. "No"

Ag. "What do you mean, No?"

Wife. "I wasn't wrong."

Ag. "But you weren't right, so you must have been wrong."

Wife. "No - I was, you know, that thing that's the opposite of right."

Ag. "You mean, wrong."

Wife. "No"

*Ag rends his garments in frustration*
