I think there are some freeware editors that can work on animated GIFs, but don't quote me on it.

I figured sb didn't have such software whether he knew about it or not, and I figure caputring the image with the .8 seconds the characters are displayed after a long time of no animation warrented a noprize.

Now for my next trick, I'll revert to the static avatar.

Paintshop Pro can work on animated GIFs, but it isn't strictly freeware. At worst though, you can get it for a trial period.

Well, the OT thread was about the number of bananas one can find in threads doing a search...an obious spam beginning. This thread on the other hand started as a question (which should be in the FAQ) about the history of the banana.

Of course, once the question was answered the spam sharks began feeding like always.

I've also noticed how threads here sometimes don't get closed even though people joke about being off-topic and gaining +1s.

Actually, After getting to know UR, I realized that he can teach a lot about the "Far East" academics.

By the way UR, you hide it well!!

speaking of animated gifs... would somebody mind editing one for me?

I have yet to find a good Mac animated .gif editor and my avatar is supposed to actually be animated, but when I shrunk it down to fit the size restrictions it lost its animation.
