what is going on with macsoft and al.... this sounds alot like neverwinter nights for mac....there is an angry ongoing forum on that one over at bioware. everyone there and here should get together and start a united effort at macsoft or something.

instead of being hush - hush about its numbers and all , a software firm in todays world should not have a problem with saying what and where it sold so and so , .....

why , simple , this is great pub , great pr , so what if one sells less then the other , that is a clear indication that people dont like it , .....


as for the post , well instead of humping behind a pc game its about time the mac games make something that pc can run after , ....

all this wait is infact a real blow to the people who play and buy games and to the people who make and sell them , ......

dont wait and see , be creative , innovate , .....

a great deal of people dont buy apple for that simple reason , 99.99 of the games runs after the pc version , ...

not everyone has two OS just to play that one game , ....

yes , i do that , and there are plenty of others , .....

now , thats an outright shame (!)

when , just when are we going to see a game like civ to come out mac first or at least at the same time then pc , .... when , .... the day the people in the gaming industry wake up and see this , thats a day that a lot more games shall be sold , resulting in cuts in R & D , pr , and a whole bunch of other cost , .... thats the day the games shall drop in prices because more of them are being sold , ......

**shrug** Maybe this comes as a shock to some folks, but one of the factors that consumers calculate when making major purchases — such as computers — is availability of software.

It just seems sad to have only three-quarters of the Civ III game ported to the Mac — the remaining quarter being PtW — thus leaving it a sort of "rump" (incomplete) game, IMO. I love the Mac platform, but it's just becoming really difficult to justify spending $2700 (top-of-the-line iMac, printer, extra memory, various fees and software) when I can get a decent PC capable of playing Civ III (and PtW) and surfing the Internet in the $1000 range (or less).

I'm not an artist. I'm not a musician. I'm not (technically) an educator. My reason for using a Mac is purely personal because I like the platform. But if there isn't a single game available on the platform that I like (the Civ series), then maybe it's just better to get an el cheapo PC for $500 and check out Civ III that way.

**sigh** A decision such as this shouldn't be necessary.

You know it does seem odd that in a time of increasing software support(applications, games, etc.) for us that there is no news about a PTW expansion pack for Civ3. Perhaps they are just waiting for the Conqerors expansion pack to come out in order to unify the effort. Still, I agree that Civ3 is incomplete(in my personal opinon not just on the mac, but i digress).
