Well, if I was in charge of setting up your political structure ( ) I'd organize it in the same basic way they do at the PTW DG RP team; you find appoint a Chairman who has basically unlimited power and can be brought down only by an internal coup (that is, a majority vote to have him replaced). Join the Hive under the iron fist of our democratically elected Chairman.

Suggestion - for all Hive members. We elect a Chairman, who cannot play the save during his time in charge. He is, however, responsible for making the plans, and telling someone else to actually play the save. Maybe?

I can see this faction (HIVE) start with a number of dictators and then they gradually whittle themselves, by coup and executions, down to one. Then we'll step in and string him/her from the yardarms after the statutory keel haul.

Re Pirates: Pirates actually operated a democratic system, many having escaped from the oppressive run regular navy schemes. They also had worked out a fair system for sharing l3wt.

With a few more sea faring members we'll soon be able to steal ourselves a nice fast Sloop.

While most of the other factions discuss research nerdy stuff, we'll be drinking xeno rum, with some fine doxies, sailors, or sturdy matelots (whatever's your thing) beside us as we design our own particulr Skull and Crossbones flag.

What life would you prefer?

We take different views ideologically, and they are very different to play. The UoP being very anti probe and pacifist, while the CyCon being more militaristic (having tech for conquering helps this) and better at probes. I always saw CyCon as a cross between UoP and the Borg. But I don't think it unbalances it, we have more research players, thus we need more research teams. You could say the Pirates and Hive are both militaristic, but they ahve enough differences to make it good.

And should the fifth team get in, we're basically playing with two Hives - ordinary and Supersize. If they drop out once whatever the guy wants to demonstrate has been demonstrated to his satisfaction we might as well restart immediately rather than prolong the agony.
