Ruben is overrated. He does the same thing every week and the judges automatically kiss his butt. On this week's episode the BeeGee songs finally exposed what a poor vocal range he has. He can't dance or move at all. He just kinda shuffles between his feet. For variety, Ruben occasionally sticks out his right hand instead of his left.
Josh had to go. Nice guy but even more limited than Ruben.
I like Kim better every week. She's quite pretty but the stylists always put her in dumpy outfits.
Clay should win if there's any justice in this thing. He can sing circles around the whole group. His range, pitch and dynamics clearly outmatch the others.

Clay has image problems, no doubt, however I can't really see the other two filling the idol role either. Ruben is more of an R&B singer than a pop singer. He looks awkward during the ensemble pieces. He never looks convincing singing hit music. Kim tries hard and could probably be trained to pull it off. Clay seems like a natural showman. Unlike the others, he needs to tone it down rather than build it up.

Actually any of the final three is worthy, I just think Clay is the best.
But forget those guys, my biggest beef with the show is the judges. or 2 out of the 3 anyway. You know who they are because they always give the same review:
"Well, you did your thing dog. I respect that."
and
"I'm such a big fan. You look great. I love you."

Simon rocks! He's the only one willing to tell these would-be Cinderellas the truth, or at least his version of the truth. Randy is kinda random in his comments. He has a huge blind spot for Ruben and has yet to say anything bad about him. Paula is on the wrong show. It's OK to be critical. This isn't Dr. Phil.

Paula's main problem is that she can't seem to grasp that someone has to get voted off every week (or two, as was the case earlier). She loves everyone, but is blind to the fact that, by definition of the contest, someone has to be the worst each week.
I don't get Randy sometimes. He will occasionally be a straight shooter, but I expect more from him as someone who has produced some major names. Simon is just brutally honest, and he might as well be. He has made some serious stars (IIRC, he was behind the Spice Girls, among others) and it's his record lable that the winners get signed to. I've always thought that the contestants were idiots when they criticized his judgement. I understand that they do it sometimes to try to score some "edginess" points, but come on - I think he knows a little better than some wannabe singer what it takes to be successful in the music industry.

BTW, Ruben is WAY over 300 pounds. I'd say he's north of 400. Look at him when he stands next to Ryan Seacrest (or anyone else) - he's pretty tall, and seriously more than twice as wide.
