Turkestan, knowing they are to be attacked by both Persia and Golden Horde, has launched a sneak attack against both of them. Although of course both were mobilized and ready to fight back, the Turk strategy surprised them enough to make someprogress into their territories.

Mass colinisation of Newfoundland
Due to the rich resources of Newfoundland, and success of prior colonies, many Normans have been tempted to settle there, especially prisoners hoping to start a brand new life with a clean record. 500 troops are also being sent with the mass to protect the areas.

Trade with Abenaki and other native tribes
Normandy has offered the native tribes of Newfoundland a trade pact, so they can experience Caucasian peoples first hand. Also, they are offered the oppurtunity to join Normandy so they can gain technological advancements.

Abenaki-Norman War:
The Abenaki Confederation has completely collapsed. The entire region has been overcome by a terrible plague, and many of the natives have lost hope and/or begun to see the Normans as some sort of gods because they are immune to the plague. The tribes near Abenaki/that used to be part of Abenaki wish for peace and wish to have an agreement of protection with Normandy but not technically be a part of it.

Turkestan War: The Grand Coalition continues to advance against Turkestan. The Crimea has been surrounded, and the area is now being jointly besieged by the Horde, Venice, and Persia. See map for more details.
