This is your problem. Everything you think is related to your own little world. Philly is one of the suckiest cities on earth...definitely in America...so why you would judge your politics or perception by it is beyond me.

Yes but we are currently building superhighways (as in civ) so our landscape is definitely becoming more and more concrete but even more so californian rather than stalinist...

I don't know, some of those little island towns are quite visually stunning.
