The Dems won't have to. Bushie is self destructing. Largest deficit in the history of humanity. Economy sputtering along like a Model-T with a flat tire. 48 States with budget deficits. Millions of jobs lost. And all Bush can thing about is how to give more tax cuts to his rich friends.

And yet he enjoys extremely high approval ratings. By the time the election comes, the economy will be in obvious recovery and Bush seems like he will coast to victory.

Lefty, Scientific American is a magazine meant to be read by lamens. As such, before anything ever gets to print in it, what's there has been looked at and reviewed and printed in journals and other such things. Odds are, if it's in Scientific American, it's already passed muster with the scientific community. That magazine is usually kinda late on developments.

I wonder what the Bush Administration will do when other countries begin developing "Mini-Nukes". It's also a shame that the American people are too unintelligent (ok, ill quit with the word-dancing: STUPID) to stop it.

The US is on a path of destruction.....

In the hands of terrorists, these weapons could prove absolutely devastating.

But terrorists rarely have much in the way of production capability, which means that they must acqurie their weaponry from other sources. If the US doesn't build "mini-nukes" then they can't be acquired.

Edit: Well, at least, not until other countries start making them. But the fewer that are out there, the fewer that can be used.

Put an end to popups!

That's not new information, nor does it disprove my point. If the Russians hadn't made any suitcase nukes, they couldn't have been stolen. And if the Russians had made fewer nukes, there's a smaller chance that they would be used against the United States.

Don't we already have mini-nukes anyway? I remember hearing about the B61-11 during the Clinton years.
