Actually, I think that humans could survive in Antarctica. But only on the peninsula. You hunt the critters ( Easy!! The ****ers barely move! ), and heat yourself by burning their body fat. You have rocks for tools, and Ice ( not sea Ice! ) for drinking water. It's manageable. But chances of leaving the place are rather slim, since there is no building material to build a raft, or whatever, from. |
Your average moron, who in theory would be sent there would have no cleu how to hunt, no clue how to make weapons to hunt (like we would give them any), and no knowledge of how ot make buildings out of ice (and where dot hey get fire to melt significant portions of ice?)
Plus, who said anything about the coast?

Assuming a small group of people lands only in the extra warming clothes needed, on the Antarctic peninsula in the summer.
You don't need to be an expert to hunt a pinguin.
tools to carve the flesh can be made out of stone.
The shoreline is not covered with ice in the summer, the shore is covered with rocks.
Buildings from ice are a bigger problem, but you can also dig inside the ice to get the room, you don't have to actually build anything.
Getting the primary fire is a *****. You'll have to get two decent rocks, and via hours of trial and error, you'll get the spark. Now comes the question, what will that spark light up? a good idea will be to use human hair. You shave it off ( you'll cut yourself with that piss poor stone blade, but this is REALLY not your concern right now. )
Also, you can use fiber from your clothes, but they're much more useful in their current state.
When you have the first little fire, you'll have to slowly add animal fat. This is a very VERY tricky proccess, but when you have a solid protected fire, You have accomplished a very important step.

Humans will never be at peace with each other even a single race or a single culture manages to wipe out everyone else. Then they would start fighting among themselves.
Global peace is only achievable through biological evolutions of the humanity.

Evolve AI systems that are far superior to human intellect, with benign intent. Install them in advisory (not executive) positions.
It wouldn't solve all the problems at once, but it might give us a clue where we are going wrong.
