I was banned for FFZ for doing nothing. I wasn't trolling or anything. I was doing the same type of posting I do here.

That really just pissed me off. I've been banned from many forums, but that is for good reason (I was trolling etc.). This time I was doing my regular posting.

trolling is like baiting (both are fishing terms)

you say something inflammatory (although it need not be inflammatory, it could be just outrageous) to get a desired response- usually hostile, angry, or outraged response.

I usually don't say inflammatory things, my trolling is far more subtle.

well not exactly.

maybe I'm not explaining it right.

flaming is down right hostility in order to get an angered response.

Trolling is to post something you don't necessarily believe in to get a desired response (the response need not be angry as I mentioned earlier, it could be a different response).

So if I said Bush is worse than Hitler. That isn't flaming. That is trolling. Because I know by posting that, Bush supporters will be all up in arms because of what I said.

You can also troll by appearing to be concilatory, for instance:

"I would like to apologise for saying that the xxxxx support staff have only got half a brain between them, I am clearly in error and would like my retraction down on record, the xxxxx support staff have NOT got half a brain between them".

That sort of stuff normally remains un-noticed by said support team for several days until someone with a lot of patience explains things and then you get a root and branch banning.
