By the way I think you should know while organising the teams for the PBEM.
I've only ever finished SMAX twice on citizen level. I've played on Thinker level once and gave up because I got lost half my bases in the early game to native mindworms from two pod pops. (And yes I had a scout in each, just the scouts got destoried by the mindworms.)
I've probably improved a bit while running the hive's turns, but mainly I'm running things by spending hours thinking about the turns and consulting the other hive members.
I would say this in the embassy forum, but I think the drones knowing that would impact diplomatic relations.
