I LOVE the Ignore List. It saves me so much time.

Living abroad, I spend a lot of time reading news and keeping up on the web. I also enjoy and value the viewpoints I encounter on Apolyont OT, but sometimes the signal-to-noise ratio gets too low. I don't need to waste time sifting through the ignorant comments of fourteen-year old chumps and other assorted morons to get to the interesting nuggets. The Ignore List decreases download time and makes for a far more rewarding Poly experience.

Just curious... if a person on your ignore list, starts a new thread, will it be visible to you? Maybe I should try ignoring some random person, just to find out

In the freeciv forum there is a thread named "Domn freeciv"
In that thread sammyboy7 and MarkG are both ignored.
When I saw this I checked my ignore list and it was (and still is) empty.

Actually it's pretty easy to Ignore yourself. You just put yourself on your Ignore List in the CP. I'd post a screenshot but I'm far too lazy.

I have one person on my list. It's not a matter of Taking it Like a Man. I think of it in terms of absolute benefit and cost. The person in question did not seem capable of offering anything even remotely intellectually stimulating and his contrariness was more annoying than funny, so I spared my blood pressure and put him on the list. It's not "wussing out" any more than refusing to dip your genitals into a pool of sharks is cowardice. Why cause yourself pain to no possible gain? Screw that.

Wohoo, I'm in the minority by having 3 people in my ignore list!!! I just like to filter out those whose posts I usually find annoying and would rather not mentally ignore them. If I stay in the OTF much longer, that list is sure to grow.
