Do you smoke? (Time out:0 days after 27-07-2003, 04:48)
Hell yeah! Over a pack (of 10) a day.
Umm ... yeah. Only less than a pack a day though.
Occasionally, when drinking or socialising.
No, not averse to maybe trying it though.
No, stay away from me! Unclean!
Flanana.

disgusting habit

The bad thing is almost everyone in my city smokes. I have a hard enough time finding a girlfriend, but finding one who doesn't smoke is near impossible.

And what's worse is these fat women that think smoking will help them lose weight

Where's the "I had a will strong enough to quit" option? I used to smoke quite a lot, 20-30 cigarettes a day, but I quit from one day to the other the month before my son was born.

congrats on quitting.

I seen some recent stats on people trying to quit smoking. Very dismal. Quitting cold turkey is less than 5% successful. Very powerful drug.

So many teenagers say- "I can quit anytime". It's best not to start in the first place.

I actually smoked a couple of cigarrettes. I really don't like cigarrette smoke, and it really wouldn't make sense for me to be a smoker because of that.

on social occasions. Luckily I am very cheap in that sense and would never even imagine buying a pack of sigarettes. a pack of sigs means less fuel for the car!

I'm not above picking up a cigar or ciggie when I'm out with the lads. I prefer a fine cigar to a run of the mill ciggie though and I also like those turkish hookas with flavored tabbaco and a nice thick cup of turkish coffee or maybe an Italian Gellato (an ice cream like food made with heavy cream). Yum-yum-yum.

I can count the number of times I do this per year on one hand though and I wouldn't call myself a smoker. At least not in any meaningful way.

A cigar every now and then, like one or two every month.

Smoking has been shown to cut the risk of Alzheimer's by a third, even in low doses like this.

Everything in moderation.

Thanks. I've already done it twice.
Or as Mark Twain said "To quit smoking is easy. I've done it a hundred times."
No, honestly, I feel that cold turkey is the best way for someone with a good will. Diminishing bit by bit never works, because once you become slightly lazy, consume rises again. Patches and gum still keep you addicted and honestly, smoking a cigarette is such a nicer way to get nicotine in your system than patches and gum (nicotine gum tastes horribly)
I'm clean for 1 1/2 years now and surely won't start ever again. I simply love my life, my child and my money too much to smoke and I hate our finance minister enough in order not being willing to pay exorbitant taxes.

Bad idea. You got to want it yourself. My girlfriend for example hates smoke and always vowed only to date non-smokers. Well, with me she broke that vow. I made it clear from the start that I won't give into laments and pressure to make me quit. She knew what she was doing when she broke her vow and took a non-smoker. Of course her dislike was an additional motivation for me to quit, as I love her, but I always said that I will only quit when I am ready for it and want it and really get sick of being a smoker, not just for subordination.

I honestly don't understand anti-smoking measures from the public. Smokers bring in tax-money and they help to stabilize the retirement-system.

I've smoked two cigarettes and three joints in my whole lifetime, to confirm my first idea that they taste like crap. There is no way i spend money in getting disgusting crap in my mouth.

Do I smoke? Yep. It's the one bad habit that I picked up while in the Army - "Smoke'em if you got'em!"
So I've been smoking for over 20 years...

Though I'm thinking about quiting once I finish the cigarettes that I have on hand (about 6 packs left).

You non-smokers are a piece of the large problem.
Look out many jobs are tied to the production, sales, and medical treatment associated with tobacco.
Improve the economy! Smoke! Smoke Heavily!
