I don't think Vick will be the same player if he has to sit in the pocket and wait (then again, neither is Donovan, but at least he could still be very effective that way). |
He's not bad in the pocket. I'm a lot more impressed with Vick in the pocket this season than last one.
I'm not too worried about my team though, I'll find something =)
And I'm more comfortable with Vick being injured now than in the middle of the season.

It's all good. I'm just torn between two QBs now for my next selection.

quote: Bucs about to sign DT McFarland to long-term extension
It appears the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will now only have to worry about preventing Warren Sapp from leaving via free agency after this season, as a deal with his partner in the middle of their defense appears imminent. Team sources have told SportsLine.com the Bucs are on the verge of signing defensive tackle Anthony McFarland to a huge extension.
The parameters of the deal have been all but agreed upon, and the deal should be finalized early this week, according to the team sources, barring any last-minute snags in negotiations. It is unclear when the team will announce the contract.
The Buccaneers were creative with this deal, and according to the sources it should not have any impact on their ability to also keep Sapp, named to the Pro Bowl six consecutive seasons (1997-2002), in Tampa Bay.
One team source said the deal includes approximately $9.5 million in bonus money, but another said that number was skewed due to the creative structure of the contract.
The 6-foot, 300-pound McFarland, nicknamed "Booger," is entering his fifth NFL season, all with Tampa Bay. He has emerged as a strong presence at defensive tackle, taking some of the load off of the All-Pro Sapp. McFarland has 12½ sacks in his career, including a personal-best 6½ in 2000.
McFarland, 25, missed four games late last season with a broken forearm, returned for two games before being placed on injured reserve with two games remaining in the season. He finished his fourth year in the NFL with 1½ sacks and 13 tackles after starting all 10 games in which he played.
McFarland was drafted in the first round, 15th overall, by the Buccaneers in 1999 out of LSU, where he started all four years and was a first-team All-American as a senior after amassing 61 tackles -- 18 for loss -- and eight sacks. McFarland was the Tigers' defensive MVP as a sophomore with 63 tackles. |
Hear that, fellas?
Executioner's Row ain't being broken up anytime soon!

Time for a small gamble here:
Afros select Kelly Holcomb, QB of the Cleveland Browns.
Sloth picks Joe Nedney, Kicker of the TTeenneessee Titans.
Berzerker is on the clock!
