To be exact the faster processor clock speed(G/MHz) does not necesserely result in faster processor.
Examplia Gratia 1.6 GHz Pentium Mobile is as fast as P4 2.5 Ghz IRL. Same thing with AMD Athlons, Pentiums run in higher clock speed, but in action arent so much faster than Athlon XPs running much lower clock speeds.
I'm sure Asher has more insight to this

I wish I had a 4gig Ram so I can play civ3 with 16 players and not take 5 minutes per turn in the industrial age.
