Answer the question: is everyone in Texas blue collar?

Somehow I don't think so...

And what the hell is bourgeois Royal anyway? The kind of taste Texan millionaires aspire to?

How could you possibly forget the sweet sweet taste of Cass . Well there's also Hite (I think its Hite) Stout, which has pretty much the right taste and color but its about as thick as a lager, which really throws you off.

Never had Singha, will have to take a vacation in Thailand eventually and try some

Someone please explain the demographic of those who go to Aberystwyth Uni...to me, it seems to have the most pleasant people around there. It takes a certain gentleness to want to go to a place like Aber.

Next vacation down to the Carrib. or Mexico way I think I will stop off for a few days in Dallas or Houston just for the hell of it; the flights from here are long anyway.

I think I will try and stay away from the UK. I was there in like '90 and thought the London to be dirtier than NY, which is huge.

Yeah Bristol is the bad side of city life in the west country, i much prefered bath, less impoverished urban pollutionism going on.
The only good thing i've heard about Bristol is its got a good music scene going on. Various friends of mine who didn't fancy the big smoke of London went there for that reason.
Aber is a beautifully poetic place, i lived close to it once, the mountains(great for running up and down), sea and the uni gave it a special something
Oh and they do Honey Ice-cream in the harbour, or was that the other Aber near by?

I think you mean ivory tower, but then such an error would be characteristic. Perhaps you could team up with Slowwhand so that you could both chew gum and breathe at the same time.

Life in the ivory tower is fine, by the way.

Nope, Ivory Tower is the original phrase.

You on the other hand live in a glass tower.

Cause it's just an imaginary pedestal you built in that overinflated blowhard head of yours.

Try and get out into the real world and mix with some real people some time. Preferably ones that aren't required to wear a jacket.

Maybe me and Sloww will even buy you some ribs and chicken at the Texas Roadhouse.

Oh, you're so funny, and so way off mark, it splits my sides. Really, it is to larf.

I don't mind you getting things wrong, I've come to expect it from you.

Still- 'bourgeois Royal' and 'Texas being entirely blue collar'- do feel free to explain.

Any time.

The place smells, the city centre is crap and the beer is overpriced...I get the feeling I have missed something about it, perhaps a bribe to tell others it is a good place, but I am pretty sure I got a good look at the place.

So tell me, what is so good about Bristol that I missed, because it seemed absolutely revolting to me....

I don't live in Bristol, and I'm on record for slagging it off.

The city centre was extensively redesigned by the Luftwaffe and 1960's town planners- it's a toss-up as to who did most damage.

The smell was probably the river. When the tide's out, it reeks.

There are good points to the city, but they aren't conveniently packaged for tourists. As for the beer? You went to the wrong pub. In the mid-90's the Cadbury House had Eng;and's cheapest beer.
