Dear 'BetterLuck' players, I need to inform you that I have lost interest in this game--completely. The sole reason is the returning delays preventing a continuous and "stable" flow of the game.
While delays announced in advance is no problem to me (be it even a month or longer)--it becomes frustrating not knowing if the turn arrives in 1-2 days or 1-2 weeks.
I understand that delays may occur without warning and that this is a part of the 'PBEM-package'; so to speak. However, this particular game has had so much bad luck that I no longer find any enjoyment playing my turns. I shall continue to play my turns, though, but I would rather find a replacement to fill my spot.
If the three of you agree to continue I shall post for a replacement for the Cybernetic Consciousness. I shall do my best to inform any replacement player of the current situation in the game (plans, strategies, diplomacy, etc.).

I'm in. Never played them in PBEM. Am good at filling in for missing players, including one of our other PBEMs Rubin. I just hate to see them die because people need to walk away. Better to play it out with a sub. I'm that sub. Whatever turnplay strategy you can afford to send is great.
Edit: Removed my complaint about Hobbes vacation. I just want to keep turns going.

Turn to Yoda - I will be gone to my sister's husband funeral over the weekend (dead in Iraq, is sticky at OT thread). Will be back by Tuesday. This is not going down as my best year, besides all the other things that have happened, my job is being contracted out by the Bush administration. sigh.

Actually, I emailed Rubin earlier today and offered to let you take my position. He deserves that courtesy, and frankly I would feel that way about me if I had the less than auspicious year I've had so far. Rubin helped start the game, and I am willing to step aside for him. The only thing I would ask you to do is to at least initially through the next tech stick with my alliance with jtsisyoda, that would only be fair to him - plus I think it is a good deal for both sides.

At work on break, thunderstorms last night fried my cable modem, cable company replacing it tomorrow. Should get turn out just as soon as they deliver it.

Turn to Yoda. Hotmail account just for this turn, send my next turn normally. Actually, the modem is under warranty, so it's no real problem. What's funny is they called me today, tried to put me off till the 20th, and I blew a gasket when they wouldn't even let me pick up the modem and install it myself. Called a supervisor (call back was asking me are you sure you need a visit, and I asked what don't you understand about "lightning strike") and got much better service. It was irritating, I was trying to save THEM money. The most irritating thing was waiting for four hours until I found out they weren't coming. I'm in the area of Kentucky hit by that big super-thunderstorm, we've had over one foot of rain in a week!
