NewsFlash - after the treaties of friendship signed by the University and Consciousness, the Pirates have met another of the missing expedition leaders, the self-styled Diedre of the Gaians. Her unwarrented demands for our entire treasury were politely refused, and even when we offered some minor loans to ease the burden of being neigbors, she refused and instead declared war on the peaceloving inhabitants of the Gaian Oceans. We will of course defend ourselves with every means possible.

Okay, people, this is my first time with PBEM that got far enough for diplomacy - Diedre called a council to elect the governor. Now the panel shows the Angels voting with her, for 25 votes. I assume I should post the votes available, 9 for the Consciousness, 13 for the Pirates, 24 for the University, and 7 for the Hive, Santiabo abstaining and at Vendetta with me so fat chance of me influencing her. OK, I can leave this game up for a while, I'm going out in about an hour, and then will be back in about two to four, depending. I'll eventually have to take the game down, which means the vote has to go through I guess sometime today.

OK, now I have it figured - never been offered a three way vote for governor in dozens of SP games, I am tied with Deirdre in population, and of course the UNI is the highest. Then do we circle around to her turn again, when is the vote decided? When the Cyborgs as the last player after the council starts moves?

I think you have it right about the elections. The first player to see that there are elections will be the first to see the result. Should we all post votes now, before Shawn plays the turn? Is that how it works?

Hmm, we can do that, jtsisyoda; but I think you usually play your turn and simply post how you voted (and maybe the totals). The next player can then take this result into consideration.

I have no preference between these two options.
