It was a US operation. And that is the answer to your conundrum. If the UN can get the US to bring the heavies and the commitment and such, than they have can succeed. Otherwise, everyone knows that they are peacenik tea-drinkers.

Got spare money?

Heresson, I don't know. I just think that's something we need to look into. I don't have idea what that would truly mean though, but it sounds interesting.

Suffering from ads?

For mean, it'd mean that UN could finally make any decision.

Well, personally, I believe that the rest of us could be perfectly capable of being effective without the US if only we'd get our minds made up once and for all.

-But you know, obviously, it's so much easier to just sit back on our self-satisfied butts complaining about the US not doing its job.
-And when the US tries to do that "job", we get all pissed off and say we never wanted them for that position in the first place...

One of these days, the world really ought to grow up!

The UN could be a great tool for solving all kinds of problems if only we'd get off our collective arses and make it work!

It's called the "little brother complex".

And I agree that the world or even Europe could get a lot done if they would just belly up to the plate. Look at the Balkans. How come we had to do that?
