Iceland
US special forces were able to dissable many of the Soviets SAM and radar sites before the attack began on Iceland, but suffered heavy loses as a result. After this task was done three carriers launched their Tomcats to take out the Russian MIGs defending the Island. With the aid of Airbrone radar the United States gained the upper hand in the skies above Iceland. The Russian MIGs shoot down 20 Tomcats, at the cost of 50 of their own fighters.
After the skies above Iceland were in the hands of the United States, paratroopers landed on Iceland and have begun to enage Soviet forces on the Iceland.
With close air support and support from two battleships, US forces have gained in the upper hand in the battle. Soviet forces are now close to losing all of Iceland.
Europe
Here both the United States and the Soviets had won battles.
The United States deployed the 10th Mountain Division in the mountains of Czechoslovakia. With the fact that Soviet Armor divisions unable to go into the areas held by the 10th Mountain Division and the fact that they are recieving air cover by the US airforce this has caused a lot of problems for Soviet forces.
The Soviets also has also gained a major victory in Europe. Using most of its troops that have taken Denmark have landed them by sea into Belgium and the Netherlands. With NATO still trying to resuply their air bases with fuel, and the fact that most Naval assest tied up with the invasion of Iceland the Soviet forces have not seen much in the way of air attacks. Also with the let up in NATO air attacks, Soviet Forces have advanced further into West Germany.
Most of the rest of the world remains unchanged.

To South Korea, North Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Burma, and India: The Japanese invasion of the Phillipines presents a grave threat to all of us. Fifty years ago, we died in our millions trying to resist Japanese aggression, and in the end we were victorious, and Japan was rendered harmless for the time being. Now, however, they are seeking to take advantage of the present conflict to restore their domination. They must be resisted and defeated - and this time we must ensure that they can never rise again to threaten us.

OOC: What japan is doing is pretty stupid. They only have a defensive military with no significant offensive capabilities. Attacking Pearl Harbor trying for another surprise like WW2 is plain insane, any attempt would be wiped off the face of the earth. No way can Japan enter into a world war that doesn't concern them, riots would be breaking out into the streets by now. THis is a completely different Japan and its society than it was in the first 40 years of the century. They're committing suicide right now, just wanted to let ya know.

USA ORDERS:
-60 bombers and a couple of F/A 18 Marine squadrons sent to Okinawa to begin immediate unrelenting bombardment of the Japanese homeland (military bases at first until otherwise changed). And to drop leaflets on the nation urging the people to rise up and stop this unprovoked war. The US has done nothing but help their nation into becoming an economically stable and peaceful nation. And this betrayal is unprecedented and cowardice. If they do not stop this war and remove their warmongering leaders from power, total war will be declared and no mercy will be given to the treasonous.
-Marines are to fortify there bases on the Japanese islands.
-Southern Pacific Fleet sent to defend Philippines.
-10th Special Forces group sent to Philippines to organize a defense, though technically unnecessary considering Japan only has a defensive military with no real offensive capabilities.
-2 Marine Divisions being sent to Okinawa.
-172nd INfantry Brigade in Alaska, being sent to South Korea.
-Air Forces in South Korea are to being bombardment of the Japanese homeland from the north.
-Special Forces in the Middle East are to begin operations in bringing down the Baku Oil Fields and the Ploesti Oil Fields.
-Special Op Forces in West Germany are to continue their successful work.
-Any available long range bombers are to begin planning of bombing runs on Soviet oil fields in Baku and Ploesti.

NATO to U.S. (SECRET) :
We're open to suggestions. Push at northern Germany?
With 5 weeks of training, the first NATO conscripts are entering battle. They are being teamed with veteran units, but not put in positions where they must be relied upon yet. They will be put into front line rotation as they gain experience, probably 2-3 weeks (or if they are urgently needed). From this point forward, conscripts will be put into battle after they recieve 6 weeks of training, thus the next batch will come in 2 weeks from now, the one after that 3 weeks from now, etc.
Send quick response to invasion of Low Countries:
Flood any polders that the Soviets have forces in. Set up fortifications ont he numerous rivers and waterways in the region. Armor and mechanized infantry assault from Lille into Belgium (an excellent unimpeded and straight path). Air assaults, artillery and rocket barrage, paratrooper and amphibious landings to keep the Soviets from stabilizing their presence. Push in Belgium and corner enemy forces on rivers and the sea wherever possible. Urban fighting units into cities of Netherlands, make the Reds suffer for any attack they may mount. Arm local volunteers with whatever is readily available.
Note: For this week, NATO forces in Germany are to cooperate and aid U.S. plans should they be needed to, unless they conflict with previously stated orders or are obviously suicidal.
btw, (for issues of conscription and production) here are population figures for the time:

The Prime Minister of Japan has been removed from office. After annoucing the planed attacks on the United States and her allies riots began in all major cities of Japan. The Army was forced to call off the invasion because they were need to keep order in Japan. The following day Parilment had a no confidence vote that resulted in the current Prime Minister beging removed from office.
As of now Parilment is going to choise a new Prime Minister and has issued a statement to beg the forgiveness of the United States and other countries involved.
Also of futher note, the fromer Prime Minister is being held in a mental hospital for testing as he has become more unstable as the days have past since he ordered the attacks against the United States.

USA ORDERS:
-Send the 3rd Infantry Division to reinforce the mountains of Czechoslovakia being held by the 10th Mountain Division. Base camps are to be established.
-Remnants of the 101st Airborne Division being sent to American held Czechoslovakia.
-1st Armored Division and 1st Cavalry Division(armored) are to attack the eastern front of Soviet forces in the Netherlands and Belgium. Concentrating on an Essen-Prisian Islands line and Essen-Luxembourg line and are to slowly move inwards with intense air support. It is to be named Operation Anaconda in an attempt to wipe out this isolated force.
-Forces of the 1st Cavalry Division are to spearhead from Essen to the coast, near Antwerp, in an effort to split the Soviet Forces in two and link up with the Nato Force attacking from Lille.
-Send a couple of SF teams into the Netherlands and Belgium to disrupt the Soviet invasion, provide intelligence to Allied forces and to attempt to disrupt any sort of reinforcements or resupplies from the sea.
-Battle groups in the North Sea, ENglish Channel, and east atlantic ocean(nearby) are to gather and blockade Belgium and Netherlands and destroy any Soviet vessels in the the area.
-The 60 bombers and couple of F/A18 Marine squadrons in Okinawa are to rebase in England and begin a bombing campaign of Moscow once a total of 100 bombers are gathered.
-The air forces in South Korea, instead of Japan, are to begin bombarding the port of Vladivostok and other major Soviet cities in the east.
-10th Special Forces group resent to South Korea to begin operations against the Soviet east.
-4th Infantry Division and 7th Infantry Division are to begin transfer to Europe via most safest route. (probably air).
-24th Infantry Division and the 2nd, 3rd, and 11th Armored Cavalry Regiments are to get ready for transportation.
-All reserve and gaurd units are to go active and begin retraining.
-Forces of the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment sent to Iceland to aid the Rangers in Operation Viking Strike.
