I remember when I was four having the most amazing revelation... my older sister would always get my GI Joe dolls and play "Marry and Honeymoon Barbie" with them, despite my crying and pleading that such was an affront to the rugged masculinity that is Joe. The real pisser is that they would always drive off in Joe's jeep, a vehicle that is to be used for the killing of Godless Heathens™ and not for romantic getaways.

Finally one day I had enough. Beth came into my room with her friends, looking for Joe and I yelled "You can't have Joe! Your not going to marry your dolls to my..."

Now, here in America dolls for boys are given the euphemism of "action figures", a title I never gave any thought to - until then.

Shocked with the revelation, I shut up, silently handed Joe to her, and never played with him again.

Aren't siblings great?

Anyway, I was a victim of bad parenting and crass commercialization - my parents allowed it, and the things were given the title of "action figures", a much cooler concept to my 4 year old ears than "dolls."

It's not my fault!!!! I was only a child!!!!!!

I use torture dolls, even my GI Dolls. Leave 'em in the street and wait for them to get run over, shave the head of the barbi dolls, tie em to a firecracker, etc... Wasn't allowed to touch the Madam Alexander dolls though. The one I did touch ended up costing me a small fortune...
