Clue #6, my first encounter with the game.

I only heard of this game several years after its 1991 release, through gaming magazines I used to read when I was still a pre-teen. For some reason it featured heavily in the tips section of PC Format even in 1994.

I even remember some of the questions asked about it. One gave the time of day (since the game's sixty significant moments are completable in quite a few different orders this was largely irrelevant) and asked what to do since he'd run out of actions. He was given a few suggestions, one of which was to use the screwdriver on the projector.

The other had reached the end of the game (before the moment you had to pick out the killer) and kept getting killed by the gangster who was IIRC the only "death" possibility in the game (just as picking out the wrong person was the only "loss" possibility). He was told to slide the soap into the room and have him slip on it.

When I actually played the game a couple of years ago I remembered, and did, both of these things.

I never played this, but the screwdriver and the projector hint was in all the pc magazines for years. The game is Cruise for a Corpse.

Okay...then I take the floor

Published: 1985

Platform: C64

This was a very successful shoot 'em up kinda game, but with a twist.

I am looking for part II in the series. What made this game different from it's predecessor was that you got to play all parts of the game, regardless how well you fared in the previous parts.

I had something called a Vox Voicemaster........

You spoke into it and it converted your speech into a digital file you could use in programs. It was really cool at the time.

This is the second to last clue. The next clue will include an abbreviation of the games' title.

In the game you made an assault on an island controlled by a mad dictator. The dictator had escaped to this island, taking prisoners with him, at the end of the first game. In this sequel, your mission is to rescue these prisoners.

In the last level of the game, you and the dictator are standing at opposite sides of a water filled cave, throwing knives at each other. If the dictator got hit by a knife, he would say: "You can hurt me" in that crappy C64 speech.

Don't know when this game was published but...

1. Pretty much everything was green
2. A very primitive 3D Engine
3. You could drive many different things

Beach Head II? You missed the classic speech excerpt: "Medic!"

We went around for years yelling "Medic!" because of that game.

Is it 'Hunter', one of my all time favourite games? released 1990 by Activision, you were a one man army and had to roam this huge 3d landscape completeing missions and, as sn0ppy said, you could drive any vehicle you found.
I still find it amazing they managed to do this game on the Amiga, it seemed pretty amazing at the time
