Oh wait. then again, there was the world series game with the Mets... so maybe the curse IS stronger.




EDIT: What I said previously still stand though.... ALOT OF emotions and drama if those 2 make it to the W series. itd be so cool

I think Cub management this year showed a comitment to winning like it has not done in ages. Hiring Dusty Baker was their best move of all.

It would be remarkable, would it not, to see a world series between the Cubs and Red Sox?

Yes... the Cubs did make a commitment this year. And Henry should be the GM of the year in Baseball.

After seeing the Cubs consisently falling short against the Pirates in the early '70s as a kid, I'm glad to see things balance out.

Yanks win. Excellent. And Boston-Oakland is going 5. Fantastic. Though I think Oakland got screwed by the umps, they screwed themselves even worse. They should have won game 3 and been kickin' back watching the other series'. That was such a weird game.

Any way you cut it, it looks good for the Yankees. But if I had to choose, I think I'd rather face a Mulder & Hudsonless As than the Red Sox, even if Pedro won't be able to pitch until game 3.

Congrats to the Cubs & Marlins. The Marlins clincher was an awesome game... what a play to end it, huh? Giants rallying, base hit, great throw by Conine (good for him, he suffered in Baltimore for years), and Pudge hangs on - Snow friggin' flattened him.

That was a great finish. don't think I've EVER seen the last out of a clinching playoff game come on a play at the plate.

Pudge was totally the Man in that series...
But the Marlins are goin' down in the NLCS!!

Pudge is a great player... but so are a couple of the Cubs pitchers. I laugh when I hear people call the Marlins the team of destiny... if any of the two teams is the "team of destiny"... it's the Cubs...

We handled the Marlins during the regular season... and the Odds makers will install the Cubs as the favorite... While that doesn't mean anything, it does indicate the EXPERTS think they will win. So in my books, it's a good place to start. Now the Cubs just have to do what they did before... go game by game, and do what they need to do.

looks like both Boston players will be okay, one walked off the field, the other had to be stretchered off, but rose his hand to let everybody know that he was conscious.
