My skill is somewhat limited in making the pictures look right, since most of the pictures are quite a bit larger than the avatars.

I'm also looking at this picture, it's nice, but I can't get the face to look right when I shrink the picture to fit in the 80 x 80 requirements.

Yer best bet is to crop it @ 80 x 70-80. Maybe even increase the image size by 200%.
