1.2 PATCH FOR LINUX IS COMING (12 January 2000, 14:59 EST) We had contacted Scott Draeker of Loki about the Linux port of SMAC, and we took the opportunity to ask him about the 1.2 patch for CTP, when it is coming and what it will contain. He kindly replied:
The 1.2 patch has been in development for quite some time. We've discovered that doing patches is extremely time intensive, similar to doing a small port. The patch will be released this week or next.
In the patch, we are fixing all known crashing bugs and all known compatibility bugs (networking, save games, scenarios). We are not fixing things that would break network compatibility, and we are not adding features or enhancements beyond those in already in 1.2"
Be sure that when the patch is out you'll find it here! :) -MarkG

As Brad Wardell of Stardock announced on the newsgroups "The design philosophy and game mechanics are showing up and we've put up a development log so you can track where we're at. There is also a news group for discussion at news://news.stardock.com" Galactic Civilizations is a strategy game in which players must guide humanity through the future ages. -MarkG
