Just thought id share a little something i noticed when i tried reinstalling SMAC a couple of weeks ago..
If you have upgraded to WIN2k or XP dont ever uninstall SMAC cause chances are youll never be able to reinstall it without switching back to an old windows version. The XP/2k compatibility patch only allows you to play the game if its allrdy installed, at least for me it does.
If you uninstalled SMAC and want to put it back on the comp you might be screwed (unless the abandonware version works around this problem).
Had to reinstall windows98ME, install SMAC+SMAX and then upgrade to XP to be able to play the game again (i was that desperate ) Oh well, thats why you have several harddrives and stuff.
