Excellent job everyone. The game seems to be moving much faster now.

I'll be leaving this forum in a little under two weeks and probably won't be back until Christmas 2004 (ie. next year). My girlfriend and I will be moving to Daegu in South Korea for a year to teach English at a kindergarten. If I do come back before then, I probably won't be able to play any Civ and will be mostly just lurking I expect. It's great to know that the team is in such superb and capable hands.

I'm no longer the forum moderator and official team leader, either. After PM'ing the admins they transfered those abilities to Arrian, so if any threads need topping or if any members need admitting then he's your man.

Hopefully it'll work for you too.

When a new person joins the civgroup they'll appear on that list and there will be an "admit" link next to their name. All you have to do is click it.

As for the moderator actions in the forum: If you scroll down to the very bottom of a thread there should be a drop-down box on the left of the screen (I can't see it anymore, but you should be able to). It will have various options like "top/de-top", "close/open" and "delete" there. Be careful you click the right one because it won't ask you for confirmation - I've seen even experienced mods delete a few threads they intended to top.

Hey FP (or anyone else who knows), how did you get screenshots to show in this forum? Did you have to use the file upload feature? I've never done that, I haven't the faintest clue how to manage it. Wanna tell me how you did it?

Yes you need to use upload.

Tutorial....

1. Click the Upload link at the top of the page (easiest to open it in a new window, I find).

2. Click Choose and find the file on your hard drive (the pic should ideally be a maximum size of 800x600 to avoid messing with the table cells of the forum).

3. Click Upload.

4. When the picture has uploaded and displayed (this may take a while depending on your connection) right-click on the image and copy the URL ("Copy Shortcut" in IE) to the clipboard.

5. Paste the image URL between IMG tags in the forum and it will display in your post.

Easy.
