	Metallica, Linkin Park, RHCP vs. iTunes Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

Well if you were excited like me that the iTunes for windows has finally come out here's a sore point to scratch for a bit.. Apparently a few big name bands like Metallica, Linkin Park, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are refusing to offer their albums on iTunes. Their reasoning is they don't want anyone downloading individual songs from their albums since the albums are somehow sacred as produced. Of course iTunes allows full album downloads, it would be silly any other way, but the going rate for full album vs. song downloads is about 47% for the albums. so 53% of the songs downloaded are individuals. This, to Metallica et al., is unacceptable.

Linkin Park thinks there songs need to be seen together as an album. Every song they've ever made sounds exactly the same .

And goddamn I hate Lars Ulrich.

I see alot of hostility towards Metallica, and yet you fail to realize they do make good music (or I should say did, before St. Anger).. Their public lives are completely off base..

Hey, did anyone watch south park last night? It featured Lars' mansion where he was crying by the pool because he didn't get his gold plated in-pool shark bar because of piracy or something like that

the cuts i heard off of st anger weren't too atrocious. but they're trying to cut rough edges into the sound, and if there's one thing that blond haired canadian fag (and i'm not talking about asher here. i have respect for him) bob rock can't do, is rough edges. the result is that st anger sounds god-awful campy. like the hardcore album that never really was.

I can't pray enough for the moment they wake up and drive a drumming stick through Bob Rock's empty head.

And while Lars is a very good drummer they need to ****ing put a mouth restrainer on him, and chain him to the drum sets. If there's any lesson to be learnt from the beatles - it's that drummers should be ugly and silent. And Lars is already damn ugly...

:laughs: lars certainly is better than average, but he's no raymond herrera or Matt from mudvayne. those are top class act percussionists.

if they wanted raw, why not go to someone like ross robinson. hello? anyone hear Korn's first album? what about sepultura's roots? or Soulfly's first album?

yeah... they should only let lars out of his box to play. and that's it. although you really could call metallica the hetfeild/ulrich experience.

I like St. Anger alot. I like it better than the black album, and the load albums.

Basically I liked Metallica when they really rocked.

and I like hearing the double bass drum. And Lars finally found the double bass after losing it for the black album and the load albums.

that's the thing: we all agree that he's a competent drummer. he just needs his vocal chords forcibly removed from his larynx, that's all. like all good drummers, he should keep his philosophical views outside of "hickory or metal drumsticks?" to himself.
