You could be playing Conquests right now.

If the release date hadn't changed. Just out of curiosity, how long do the email merchants usually take to get your order to you once the release date hits?

I think the major preorder sites were Amazon and Gamespot.

(Wondering if I won't receive mine in the mail til mid-November.)

The site I use promise to get the game to you on the release date if you pay for first class postage. I can't bring myself to do that (you spent HOW much on that stupid game, and first class post!....) so I go for second class post. They still got PTW to me on the original european release date.

It has been hot or miss for me with all my preorders. That is why I ordered directly at the local GameStop store. I had to cancel my preorder for Civ III way back when, as it was back ordered?
I just walked into EB and bought it after a number of days with no delivery.

I ordered from the GameStop internet store as there isn't a software store anywhere near me. I was hoping someone had ordered from GameStop before and knew how long they took to deliver preorders.

I never preoder anything. You're at their mercy come shipment day.

I'd rather spend 2-3 days searching all over for a hot game myself vs. sitting at home cursing the day I preordered because my game came in the mail 2-3 days late.

When I preordered PTW from EBgames last year, it arrived on the release day.

Hopefully that will be the case again with Conquests.

Well call me a cynic but when they offer something for free it's just a hook to get you to give them your money before the game is available.

I ordered CivIII through the Net, but it would have been just as easy to get it at the mall - UPS ships at the same speed either way. I ordered another game online and it was backordered so much that I cancelled and went to the store out of disgust.

If you want to order online, I think Amazon offers free shipping over $25.

My problem is that if I order it from the States (even first class), things tend to take 3 weeks to fly across the Pacific, and it would cost enormous amounts. If however, I do what I am planning on doing, waiting until it is released here (NZ), I get it for $18US - but I have to wait another two weeks from this moment!!
