map tool? Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Donīt know if this has been asked thousand times before, but is there any tool that can cut off a part from an existing map? As far as I know most tools do only resize maps?

Yes, Bernd there is! Mercator released his tool one or two weeks ago and it's fantastic! I already used it to remove some unwanted parts of my Viking map with it. You can find it on his webpage(see the links section) or on Apolyton I believe.

Same type of question:
Is there a tool available to add rivers to an existing game map?

I know it is possible to add rivers manually to an existing map. I have never seen a tool for it though.
I'll take a look around for one...

BTW, Cpt. Nemo: May I use your WWII Units for a possible scenario?

Edit: I think you can add and remove rivers also with Mercators tool. It's a bit complicated but works.

Nemo, IIRC, you can use MapCopy to copy a map into an existing saved game file. Its availble at my site, if you don't have it already.

You can copy a MAP into a scenario? What happens to the terrain improvements? How about the units? This sounds really promising...Tell me more.

Well, I haven't tried it yet myself, but it uses DOS commands (batch files, hint, hint.. ) to copy maps into saved games and vice versa, and can also be used to copy map data...

To answer Nemo's question about MapCopy:

Yes, you can copy a MP file to a scenario. The utility has options to determine whether things like irrigation or visibility are also copied. Cities, units, etc are left alone, meaning that if you copy ocean over a city, you get a city in an ocean.

You may want to check out the read me, at http://home.san.rr.com/dustyr/downl...opy-readme.txt.

Note that it claims to be beta software, but I've decided that putting out beta software for such a small utility is silly, and I'll change it to new version as soon as I clean my apartment.
