Bouncing back and forth

Hello all, I'm semi back. First of all, I apologize for not coming here often. I have kind of stepped away from anything Civ while ago, but maybe C3C might change things. Truth is, I dont even know where my PTW disc is. Yeh, Civ is that away from my life As of this moment....
Well I guess this sort of makes it interesting though, no? Any time I show up on this forum would be a very special ocassion!
Secondly, I like to thank you people for keeping the team going. Where I was too lazy to continue my ideal for the team, you guys kept the team alive. Kudos
And finally, I liked to ask an important question about what you envision for the future, goals and all that stuff for the tems are. When I had a team in mind, I thought I would create a team like Toga and FP's where competitively winning wasnt a priority to the team. PTW II first started as a relaxation game from the PTW I competitive play. But it seems like everyone has somehow reverted the game into the ISDG mood while setting aside all the interesting and unique team theme as merely for role play enviornment.
And in addition, I think we lack long term planning for our team. Perhaps from lack of participation and members, we dont have enough manpower to get everything organized, but it would be a good insight to see where they see our team heading, what government we will adopt ultimately, what kind of military strategies we will employ etc etc...

For Roleplay, I must warn you (and pretty much everyone in the team), it's not really in my genes... I can get a couple of monkey-oriented joke once in a while, but I'm not really the kind of guy who walks around all day like a monkey just for the fun of pretending to be a monkey...
As much as I like our theme, it's mostly playing Civ and the people that drwas me here, not monkeydom.
As for the long term strategy, I have my little idea, but I don' think we can plan 200 turns in advance without throwing everything overboard a couple of times. It all depends on the situations that are presented to us. Think of me as the opportunist civer. I'll go to war when I have a good occasion to do so, I'll build when the games dictates me to do so. I think it's the most efficient way to play Civ, as you can adapt easily to anything that is thrown to you, instead of beelining for a precise goal.
I say that our main goal should be winning, and doing all that's socially acceptable in order to get to this ultimate goal. But if we're beaten, the eh! what can you do about it? We would have faced a better team! I never play Civ to lose, and I think everyone can share this opinion.
PtWDG II is indeed a relaxation game... You won't see me b*tching (publicly I mean ) about an other player or about an other team, because it just doesn't feel right in the frame of the game. It doesn't feel right, period.
