And I should add that I currently am not planning on seriously running for November. If my name must appear on the ballot due to some kind of Constitutional imperative, then sobeit, but I have been hoping for a break.

I thank NM for the nomination, but I do not intend on running this month. I just recently got my new computer online, have some catching up to do, and prefer to focus on FAM business for now.

Do note, I intend on running in March of 2004 as my signifigant other will be overseas for 3 months starting in March.

tkmjcw - I am a little uncertain what you mean - are you running for Consul, and if you lose would ask that the Consuls consider you for MoW, or are you just wanting to put your name forward to be considered as one or the other?

It appears that many who might assume the position of Consul would have to vacate a currently held office.

I am willing to help fill any vacancies caused by people switching offices--assuming there is a shortage of willing labor!

For that matter, I would serve in any capacity--including Consul, but I am not so naive to assume that a new member of the team--and a mere "Settler"--would have any chance of winning!

Essentially, this is just an offer to help in any capacity.

Unfortunately, my breadth of hobbies (okay, and girlfriend) preclude me from running at this time, and my abilities as an MoW would be equally poor. I am flattered to be considered, in either case, but I will openly state that I will note vote for Trip, not because I think he would make a poor Counsel, but because I think he is irreplaceable as MoW!

maybe Trip could be kind of a "Military Consul" while the war lasts. Which would be excellent since he could play the save. I was actually pushing a few weeks ago to allow the MoW to play the save in wartime.
