I sent a hello pm to MZ and got this back..

Greetings fair and wise MAST!

We are honored to have contact with you, and we are quite interested in trading techs as well as having a long-lasting peaceful relationship.

I have discussed the following trade with our team and would like to present it to you since as of this turn we have 2 techs which you don't (HBR, BW) and you have two that we don't. It is a long term deal since we have contact already with another civ and do not want either of us three to repeat techs.

We offer:

HBR (5) + Bronze Working (3) + Polytheism (12).

We receive from you:

Masonry (4) + Philosophy (6) + Code of Laws or Literature (10)

that's a 20 - 20 deal. We can trade the techs as soon as we begin getting them.

as for exploring, we would be interesting in a exploration pact: we are free to explore around our lands as long as we stay 1 tile from our borders. Should any of us need to stray on to the tile directly outside (say, to kill a barb), he must inform the other.

I've since learned that the team they have contact with is Sunshine. I sent a message back saying we have a deal for BW with Sunshine and that we are a bit wary of them getting the best deals out of trade. Also asking whether they were to recieve Mysticism from SS.

I'll send someone else in their team an message that we have BW now.

spoke to MZ in irc they'll buy Masonry off us for 50 gold next turn.

they have offered us a deal where we research CoL and Phil and exchage it to them, we'd have to get writing from SS first and would have to set up deals to sell the techs to SS and Tabe aswell.

I also spoke about the existance of Tabemono. They're also willing to sell us IW.

But, unfortunaly, when you continue ahed you'll see a worker bloking the unique pass to our lands. He still have to do a road an a mine.

We don't have any problem that you explore, but, I think right now it's gonna be useless for you cause the worker.

I suggest you retreat them.

In other matters, I wanted to know if you have benn working in our scientific proposal of exchange.

it certainly got their attention.

I sent a response saying sorry and that we'd retreat and that we wouldn't go into their territory again.

I said we'd do the science thing and asked about a non aggression agreement.
