Ok, first thing is this. Everybody calm down. Yes, I did send the save with the settler being produced. My reason is the following, Ghengis is the king of that town, he said settler. The rules says kings have final say, obviously in the case of something being overlooked I could change it, but that was not the case. We have by my estimation 2 locations for settlers, so this one will not be wasted.
Now to my style of leadership. It has always been my belief(both in RL and game) that when I am in a leadership position that my REAL job is to help those I'm leading do their jobs the best way possible. Generally I do this by setting a general course and then staying out of the way unless I see something bantantly wrong or events are or will soon be going badly. Applying that to this situation I let the kings do what they do as long as it fits into our general plan and doesn't endanger our nation.
Do I always agree with what orders I'm given. Not always, but I've never seen an order that didn't have some merit. The fact is that even though we are all warmongers we have different styles of play. Let me give an example, generally I believe that it is wisest to concentrate on offense. This is based on the fact that its hard to attack when you are fighting for you life. However, a legitamate case can be made for building many defensive units(as GS does). Both are possible winning strategies and have merit and I realize this fact. This is true in our current case and thus without blantant error, I did what the king said.
