GCA and War Weariness Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Can we? What about if GWT gifts GCA a city on the other continent, and GCA refuses to make peace with us for the rest of the game after we clean up their cities on our continent? Would we ever get rid of the War Weariness?
Surely, GWT will be our enemy too but this may help them enormously...

Partition the UN for Mongoose to call this an exploit.

I doubt it would be difficult to convince him this is an abuse of the game mechanics.

"Partition"? You mean "Petition" ("ask")?

City gifting is not an exploit in my mind. One can certainly argue that city gifting for the purpose of unit teleportation is, but just giving another civ a city or two... why exactly is that an exploit?

As for how we deal with it... diplomacy. I think it's a valid concern that should be brought up with GWT. After all, if they gain the upper hand in their war (less likely, I know) we could do the same nasty thing to them.

The city gifting is not the problem. Eternal state of war would be (because of the war weariness).

Though I am not all that sure... I am no expert on WW, but I thought that the sole "state of war" was not enough to induce massive WW - units, casualties etc. were. Am I mistaken?

Unfortunately I believe you are mistaken, if you are at war, you eventually get war wearyness. (sp?)

Should we bring this issue up at the UN at some point?

When Ghengis wanted to take a settler on a boat and stay at war forever with CFC (was it CFC?) the UN wouldn't let him because then his teammates couldn't go to other teams and it wasn't in the spirit of the game.

Something to think about.

Got spare money?

It was GCA CFC and CDG were allies in the GCA war.

Yes, on the lists of game abuses, the "eternal state of war" is definately on to be added. There is no reason to do something like that other than to do it out of spite.

If GWT does this AND GCA does not accept a peace offer, then we can formally complain about an abuse of game mechanics. GWT will certainly be told, in the near future, that gifting cities to GWT, on the other Continent for the sole purpose of keeping them alive so that they can stay at war with us will be considered a hostile act on the part of GWT. I don't care what MZ has to say about it either, I will personaly deliver the message to GWT myself if he does not.

If the team agrees to it, who says I won't?

Nobody, but it hasn't happened yet either. BigFree nor MZ sets policy, the team does. I'm just making it clear that if you do not agree that it does not mean it won't hapen.

B*tching and moaning to GWT will get us nowhere. If this happens we go to the UN and bring the issue up as an exploit, simple as that. There is nothing we can do about GWT gifting them a city as long as they make peace with us afterwards.

And BF, I'd appreciate it if you refrained with your not-so-subtle jabs on me on things I haven't even done or considered doing because ultimately you won't be sending any letters to GWT either if the team doesn't want to.

btw, I also doubt that this will happen because I doubt all of GCA will continue to want to play an OCC game on the other continent just to piss us off.

Lucky sure might, but perhaps the other guys will want to join another team.
