What to do next ? Inflate your Upload Space

If any of yoy has read the "Kok Turks" thread... six days to release!!!
But... what to do next?

My "secret" project on my site is far from release shores - too many units ( MS 06 model, for example, has more than 20 different looks; and there are 14 MS in that army, not to mention tanks, airplanes, jets, spaceships - and opponents are two !!! ). I need time to rest from this hard research, so...

Three possibilities:

a) a Baltic scenario about Lithuania and Teutonics ( thanks, Saras !!!);

b) a brand new scenario about Sardinia ( do you know who Mogehid Al-Hamiri was ?); but I'm afraid you're going to be terrorized once you'll discover why we have have four cutted Arabic heads on our vessel ...

c) a Chung Kuo scenario restyling - and since I'm close to end with Kok-Turks...

What do you suggest me to do next ?

Well that's ok. I won't be needing production statistics. Thanks anyway.

If things work like they're supposed to in the events (and it will piss me off and push the date back if they don't), then this scenario will have a TOTALLY unique way to produce units.

I suggest you do the Korean war. There's a LOT that can be done using Nemo-esque techniques with the AI.

Do the baltic one, if you need infomation try the Cambridge medieval history (its what I'm using for my 1400 scn (which is taking forever and day to get right )).

Be warning though it will take you an age to read

Prometeus, I´ve some pics of Teutonic Knights (from miniatures), can send them to you.
Found them at http://www.aeroartinc.com/milmin/default.htm

I also downloaded your PG3 GFX. It looks great, but it is a lot work to identify the different units, because they are without names...and I´m not the expert for WWII scns.

G R E A T !!!!! I think I'm lucky... at last this time. Because...

a) I win a Age of Kings full working CD-Rom !!!

b) I found an interesting magazines about Teutonic Order ( and Templars and Johannites also ) and Cambridge Medioeval History about Chivalry Orders was pretty good as source. Thanks, COckney !!!

c) I found also on my town public library:
* A "Chung Kuo" China's history book;
* A Vietnam precolonialist history book ( written by Le Thanh Koi: is a good book? It was the only one. Tips, VietMinh ? ).

I think I've enough material now to make the Teutonic Order scenario ( BeBro, do you have any other tip about Teutonics ? ), and to restyle & put the Chung Kuo scenario into english ( thanks Wangshimbo, the movie tip was great; "The emperor and the assassin" is for sure a great source !!! ).

Any other help will be much appreciated.

Thanks, Prom

Well i don't know I have never heard of it but here are some questions; was it translated? If it is (wich I assume it is) what language is it in? Were was the author based? In Viet Nam? In the USA? In France? Give a brief resume of it and I'll tell my humble opinion of Viet Namese Precolonial history. If you haven't read it yet i'll be glad to give you a brief history course in Viet Nam before the French

Prometeus, how about you make a really innovative and good looking scenario about the Khmer Empire that once ruled Cambodia between the 13th and 15th century? There is no scenario about the theme yet and I am just waiting to see a good scenario about that region and time period.

How about it?

To VietMinh

For what i seen about on this book, Le Tranh Khoi was teacher at Sorbonne, in Paris. This book begins with Vietnam prehistory, continues with first vietnamese kingdoms ( the Hung Vuong, Au Lac and Bac Viet tribes, the Nam Viet and his king Trieu Da ), the "Giao-chi" chinese rulers and Champa kingdom, to reach the classical vietnamese dinasties before 1858.
It was a lot interesting to read, because of the author payed much attention to basic vietnamese administration' structure, the village; as a matter of fact, is the history of Vietnam from a "farmer" point of view.

To Stefu

The Battle on the Ice is currently on working... as a secondary front of "Skumand".

To Hendrik

I don't know... currently I've put too much meat on fire, I think. But if you want to realize it, I'll be glad to help you. BTW also a Champa' scenario was never realized...

To Mao

It's just matter of translate it - and to change a few graphics ( I'll use a lot of "A-she-na" scenario units to depict barbarians and Chinese ).

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Looks pretty good, just a point to make, before the french came, we had rifles and cannons but the new dysnasty in power were agaisnt foreign stuff so they bruned most of it so that's why by the time the french arrived we were pretty backward.

About the Champa, we conquered and assilimate them, something akin to cultural genocide...

PS: Don't forget about Tran Hung Dao, the general who whip the Mongols in the period of Kublhai Khan.

Yes, just a couple of things ( ahem, three )...

First: where can i find & download an administrative map of Vietnam? The author seems to use modern vietnamese districts to adlocate ancient ones, but i can't find them on italian maps.

Second: during the Ming war, in order to build artillery, Chinese army destroyed three of the four ancient Vietnam wonders placed in Dong-bo, the ancient Vietnamese capital city : the Pho-minh bronze grave, the Quy-dien bell, and the Bao-thien arrow, ... but Le Thanh Khoi never mentioned the fourth in this book. Any idea of what this wonder was ? It was placed in Dong-bo? Where can I find a reconstruction picture of them ?

Third: are Chinese Yueh kingdom and Bac Viet/"One Hundred Yueh" related? Do you think Dayak village's look is going to fit good for Southern China's Yueh villages ( after all, also Dayak had links with Dong-son culture, but maybe i'm wrong about it... )?

1. Sorry there are none that i know of on the internet if you want english, you'd have to try www.explorevietnam.com or www.viettouch.com
My dad has one but I don't have a scanner what can't you find? I can mabye help you

2. Actually it was never clear what was the fourth one, many books proposes many differents things. I believe the most accurate one is the theory that there was no fourth one for some believe that it was maded up so that the hate for the chinese be greater therefor an incite for rebellion and war.

3. Yes they are related to an extend for before Viet Nam up even more north, we were pushed back south by the chinese but many remained so the city look would go pretty well.

Thanks, VietMinh !!!! Just what I was looking for... The Champa map was very good, and I'm glad I could at last see the famous Dong-son drums described in the book.

PS Why you talk of "akin of genocide" related to Champa? Get rid of piracy was a mainline in Sardinian history too, but we never felt guilty for sistematic Arabic pirates' executions... Mogehid al-Hamiri fully deserved what we did him.

I never said I was guilty but I am saying that the Champa were fully assilimated by the Viet Namese, before the french came the Viet Namese were going to assilimate Cambodia and laos too, they rudely interrupted us . If you need anything else just ask, when will the scn be close to finish?
