Proposed plan:

We do Mapmaking, double back to Literature

We trade for CoL by giving Writing + gold to MAST
We aquire Currency + WM from Tabemono for MM + Philo.

We either research Construction or trade for it using Literature and Poly or MM. Depends on if someone gets it in time. We may be forced to research it as we're ahead of everyone else.

How about putting asterisks next to the optional techs which are Literature, Republic, and Monarchy in the Ancient Age.

After Tabemono's tech betrayal, I've been trying to come up with a new trade. Here's what I have:

We give Writing, they give Math
We give Philo + HBR, they give Currency.

This deal isn't even, but I think it's fair given the circumstances.

As they're deal breakers, we include language about how they are required to give us Currency even if they get Philo and/or HBR from other sources.
We also include a No-Trade clause.

Thoughts?

Sounds good to me, if they will go for it. I think they will balk at the Phil+HbR=Cur trade as currency is a very expensive tech. We might have to sweeten the pot witih a little gold. Propose it and see what they say.

I have been thinking about this and came to the conclusion we need to research Construction. It will be the last required tech so we will jump to the next age when we complete it.

We will finish our current research before the other civs (maybe not by much but it should be by a few turns).
We are at or close to the research rate of the other civs (I have seen no indications that any civ on our continent can significantly out research us). If we do Literature (a quick tech), MAST finishes CoL and starts Republic, LL finished Poly and starts Monarchy, and Tab finishes Currency and starts Construction, then we will finish Lit and have nothing left to research while we are waiting for Construciton. Us completing Construction is the quickest way to opening up additional research possibilities for all civs on our continent. I think we should do Construction and Tab should do Lit.

LL will complete Poly at the same time we complete MM. The best way I see the research going is:

We go for Construction.
LL goes for Monarchy.
MAST finishes CoL and goes on to Republic.
Tab finishes Currency and goes on to Literature.

I updated the AA post to show we researched Construction and the MA post to show we are researching Mono and got Engineering for free.
