Oh come on. Few people who buy computer games give two whits about who the publisher is. If it looks good and is getting strong reviews, that's what matters most.
When was the last time Microprose published a game you played? Be honest--it was already a dead husk, for all intents and purposes. I'm far more concerned for the employees who lost their jobs than the name--I mean, really, who cares?
Other than nostalgia from a very small group of gamers, what other reason would there be for keeping Microprose around? Would you rather have it churning out Atari crap and sullying its own legacy?

hi ,
actually people do care about it , it can be a signal like " hey , these guys are great why not try this game from them " , etc , ......
some firms provide patches , others dont , some firms have good people working for them , some dont , ......
