the US is 70% white, right? so if everybody suddenly got all mixed, in a few generations, every American would be 70% white, right? oh and another 12-15% being hispanic which, face it, is white with a tan. if the KKK and what not wants a White America, isn't inter-racial relations the way to achieve it? everyone would be 'white'. ironic...
so whats with that?

What you're missing, Albert, is the notion (especially prevalent in the South) that non-white blood "pollutes" white blood. Louisiana, for example, until very recently legally defined as "Negro" anyone who was 1/32 black; that is, if you had one black great-great-great grandparent, and all your other ancestors were white, you would still be "black" (I don't think these laws are still on the books, but I don't know for sure). This is similar, of course, to the Nazi German law that made anyone who was 1/16 Jewish a Jew -- and shows a similar social mind-set. In other words, from the point of view of the whites who actually care about this stuff, mixing black and white blood in any proportion makes more blacks, not more whites.

i don't think my decendents will ever be 70% white. 70% isn't a power of 2...

and about the "miscegenation" ideas... well, although an asian-white relationship gets fewer eyebrows raised than white-black relationship, there are still those who find such mixed-race pairings wrong. often times, there seems to be a sort of ranking on how threatening the mixes are to those people; asians are apparently "white enough" if they're female, a little less so than males, which seems to go a long way towards 'acceptance'.
what's more is that while you often have a fairly balanced ratio of male latino-female white to female latina-white male relationships, you see a great imbalanced between other pairings: far more black male-white female than white male-black female, and although you'll find droves of white male-asian female pairings, the number of asian male-white female pairings i've seen i could count on one of my hands--and that's including mine. these all can play into the generic racial stereotypes, which can enforce the "rankings" so to speak.
even between colored peoples, there's a good deal of ranking--japanese like japanese, koreans koreans, and chinese chinese; hindu indians stay away from sikh and muslim indians. han chinese don't usually go for southern chinese.
no matter what you may want, you'll always have some purebloods. the trick is to not think about race at all; tall order for some, but it can be done. who cares of someone is pureblooded or not if the basic and fundamental idea of different races is irrelevant?

If one race made up of a mix of all current races is your ideal, then you are basically admitting that racial integration/diversity can never work.
