	Year Abroad Suffering from ads?

Well, I've got some info about options for next year, my year abroad.

Places and things I can do...

• Moscow - State Linguistic University (Full Year)

• St. Petersburg - Teaching English (Full/Half Year)
  
• St. Petersburg - State University (Half Year)
  
• Yaroslavl' - Yartek Institute (Full/Half Year), same place I went to during the summer.
  
• Tver - State University (Half Year)
  
• Volgograd - Language Link Centre (Half Year)
  
• Petrozavodsk - State University (Half Year)

It's a bit dumb how they want us to tell them where we want to go with these tiny snippets of information, then we're going to have a meeting where they explain stuff.

I'd go to Moscow and/or St. Petersburg, but then I like my big, cosmopolitan cities I do. Moscow is awesome.

Moscow is far better than St. Petersburg, but I'm not really a big citylad...plus going somewhere sans foreginers would be a lot better for my language.

Depends what you're looking for; Moscow and St P are big enough that you can immerse yourself in the language by avoiding foreigners; but at the same time have the option of a sanity break when things get too Russian - the options available in smaller Russain cities even now are limited and a year is a long time - unless you want to do a Chekov and only dream of going to Moscow

Wherever you go, try to travel within Russia or the CIS - natives don't and the stories you'll get from Norilsk', Nizhy Tagil, Ashgabat or Dushanbe will take some beating

Definitely. I really enjoyed going to Moscow but I just think, for me at least, it's more of a place to visit rather than live in.

Already got pleanty of plans to travel (i.e. Trans-Mongolian railway, Turkestan-Siberian railway, the Baltic States, Minsk etc.)...will just have to hope that I get pleanty of free time
