Nipped out to Game in Warrington (nearest shop to where I work) this lunchtime and picked up a copy.
Just back here checking now, to find out where to change the screen size (I seem to recall this being a feature with C3C), and then it'll be on the machine until tomorrow!

6pm Friday 21 (revised release date). Oxford Street, London - probably the busiest shopping street in Europe. From Tottenham Court Road going west......
Virgin - hasn't arrived yet
Game - we had it but we've sold out because we weren't sent as many copies as we ordered
HMV - on the shelf, but didn't look like there were many copies left
I work in a supply industry. If I screwed up on delivery like this there woul be big black holes on TV where programmes are supposed to be, and would be kicked down twenty-teo flights of stairs and out into the cold.
Who is distributing Conquests, and is there any reason why they shoudn't be thrown down the nearest volcano?
As a customer who wants the goods, I and thousands like me are still going to hand over the cash, whatever the delay (though I was sorely tempted to buy CM 03-04, or a heavily discounted Europa Universalis II, and let Atari go spin). But the retailers who haven't got it should be up in arms over lost sales.
Crap service.

Still, who cares, I'm off to build an enlightened highly cultured civ that can grind its rivals' faces intot the blood-soaekd earth (does that sound like the Dutch????)

Re. Amazon, I actually ordered it twice, then cancelled it both times when it became clear they hadn't shipped it and it'd be quicker to get it from a shop.
