	Weird keyboard problem Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

When I connect to the second computer through Remote Desktop Connection, what I press on the keyboard acts "funny"

When I press the arrow keys it selects the next file (in explorer), or the next letter (in textbox), kinda like if you have shift pressed down (Which I haven't )

Also when I press the delete key, it acts as backspace (In textboxes)


Anyone who has any idea on what's going on here?

Possibly they have different keyboard preference settings?

If one is say a German keyboard layout, and the other French, that might cause problems.

Both are danish layout (Both on english version of Windows XP

OK, but have you set local preferences on both to use Danish layout?

I've had similar problems before - one way to see if it is hardware (one of the keyboards is malfunctioning) is to swap them around and see if the problem follows the keyboard.

If it does, it's a hardware problem. If it doesn't it's a software problem (settings are wrong in Windows).

sometimes keys get "stuck". press and hold the offending key for about 2-3 seconds, and then try again.

It's the same keyboard I use on both computers (As I said: I used Remote Desktop Connection, which takes control over the other computer, from the first computer)

I has a keyboard plugged in, but that one's not used... have you ever tried to use Remote Desktop Connection?

hm.. i can't duplicate it, but i've had situations like that when it seems as if the ctrl key is stuck. usually, to get rid of it, i press and hold the ctrl key for a bit.
