I've seen the save and have an idea for a cool recovery...

Got spare money?

So somehow the Izz governer got his hands on the wheel and the wine-grass wf ended on the hill Izz-1 instead.

Izz is at 3 food, 8 shields.

I think I can see one recovery option, and doubtless there are others.

If we now work a river grass for +4 fpt (growth in 2), order an archer (complete in 2), and leave the wine grass for Burundy for two turns - we get the pump back in synch for workers at base 6, and when Izz hits 6 Burundy will only be 2f short of growth

We also get our 3rd archer - all three would be moving out almost together.

I had to write this up first - now I'll see what devastating consequences this would have for The Plan. (we should think about designing some Civ-planning software to allow for edits!)

Oh, and Burundy's only a shield off its archer anyway, so using the wine-grass doesn't lose any time there.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

This would bring Republic down to 28 turns, with Izz, Burundy, CoS and Swindon all about to grow.

Hmm. I'm about to open the save. Your idea sounds about like what I was thinking, though...

Ok, first off:

Coventry founded 66 of Silesia. We might want to change the name at some point, but for now, I'm leaving it be.

Set to worker, due in 10.

Stooges road.

Cheeky Monkey roads.

Frustrated Poet (archer) moves 2.

Northern scout moves 88. Sights a Monkey warrior (Cheetah) at 8 from that position, and a Pythonian warrior, Castle of Loimbard, at 69.

Shuffled warrior pickets.... screenies forthcoming...

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Ok, Izz has 3 food. It needs 10 to grow. Therefore, if we give it one more turn at 3, it will have 6, and we can easily pull in 4 to complete growth. There is no way we can accomplish growth in less than 2 turns from now.

However, we don't want Izz getting too big, screwing up our settler pump. So... I'm switch the build to a settler.

I'm setting Izz at +4 food. This will end up wasting a little food, but so be it. Right now, as I have it, growth in 2 (to size 6), settler complete in 4.

Two turns from now, we will need to reassign the citizens so that Izz can get back to +5 food. Burundy will lose the irrigated wine again. No biggie. As you pointed out, the archer completes next turn anyway. The next build can really be anything, but I figure it shoudl be a harbor prebuild.

CoS is at growth in 2, worker in 2. Nice.

Swindon's barracks completes next turn. With the new terrain opened up with the foundation of Coventry, Silesia has more options, so next turn we should look at shuffling citizens in Swindon/Silesia to get the best out of Swindon. If we can knock a turn or two off of vet spears out of Swindon, I'm ok with "stealing" a bit from Silesia.

Still working on the turn... damn, had 7 drinks tonight... hope I'm not ****ing this up..

Suffering from ads?

Southern scout moves 6 onto hill, Monkey warrior sighted 6 on tundra.

That about does it. I looked at the archer build in Izz, but that would have left us at size 6 when the archer completed (unless we deliberately let Izz grow slower than it could, and I looked at what that would do to Burundy, and I don't see much help there), and that would mean wasted food at size 7.

Long and the short of it is that I think this is the best way. I could be wrong, but this is the best I can do, at least right now

So, settler in 4. I will adjust the plan as soon as I can... probably tomorrow or Sunday.

I also sent warrior code to Python unaccepted, to spur a response. Sir Ralph hasn't gotten back to me on that.

Damn, typing is hard when you're tipsy.

Southern Scout Full PM-box? Change here!

I think that if the southern scout goes 3,6 the hut is visible and reachable next turn. (see T56 Thread)

Kloreep says they haven't recieved the save - so there may be an opportunity to change that if desired.

My cable connection has died (area fault). I had to get out to a cyber cafe to post this. Hopefully I'll get a dial-up connection sorted soon. The cable fault could take a couple of days for them to get out and fix - but I'll pop back down here tomorrow otherwise.
